Overview
This five-day safari is designed for travellers whose main interest is spending meaningful time in the Serengeti, following wildlife activity across the plains without trying to cover too many parks in a short period.
Rather than moving frequently between destinations, the focus here is on staying longer in one ecosystem and allowing time to observe animal behaviour at a natural pace.
Depending on the season, game drives concentrate on areas where the migration is active, while still offering opportunities to see resident wildlife that remains in the Serengeti year-round.

Day By Day
Day 1: Arrival - Pick Up and Transfer to Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be met by our driver and transferred to your hotel in Arusha, a relaxed introduction to the safari ahead. The transfer usually takes about an hour and views of Mount Meru if the weather is clear.
After check-in, the rest of the day is left open so you can rest after your flight, adjust to the time zone, or simply enjoy the quiet surroundings of the hotel. In the evening, you will meet our safari manager for a briefing covering the schedule, luggage arrangements, and practical expectations for the days ahead. This meeting also provides time to ask questions and ensure everything is clear before the safari begins the following day.
Day 2: Arusha - Drive or Fly to Serengeti
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the domestic terminal for your scheduled flight to Nyerere National Park. The flight offers views of changing landscapes as the coastline gives way to rivers, woodland, and open bush. Upon arrival at the airstrip, your guide welcomes you and begins a game drive en route to the lodge or camp.
Wildlife sightings often begin quickly, with chances to see giraffes, elephants, antelope species, and diverse birdlife. After lunch and some time to settle in, you head out again for an afternoon game drive before returning to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 3 & 4: Serengeti National Park
These two days are dedicated to exploring the Serengeti in depth, allowing flexibility to follow wildlife movements rather than sticking to a fixed route. Early morning game drives take advantage of cooler temperatures when animals are most active, often revealing predators returning from nighttime hunts or herds beginning to move across the plains.
Depending on the season, drives may focus on migration corridors where wildebeest and zebra gather in large numbers, though sightings vary naturally and guides adjust plans based on recent activity. Midday breaks provide time to rest at camp or enjoy a picnic in the field before continuing with afternoon game drives that explore different habitats.
Spending consecutive days in one area allows you to notice smaller details often missed on shorter visits, such as animal interactions, changing light across the landscape, and the steady pace of life on the plains.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, you will drive to he Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On arrival, we descend 610 meters (2,000 ft) to the crater floor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the African Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo. It is the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world and hosts more than 25,000 large mammals, often referred to as “Africa’s Garden of Eden.”
After a picnic lunch, you ascend the crater and begin the drive back to Arusha, continuing onward to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward flight, marking the end of the safari.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch
